The last few days and coming days were coupled with good number of holidays and I think it's actually an opportunity to enjoy the company of your loved ones but the answer is negative when I asked a few friend of my college mates on how they plan on spending their "Ramadan break".
The answers I received were shocking that I decided to write this piece, research has shown that once a child enters tertiary institution such child can never get the family intimacy again as compared to high school because it marks the beginning of adults independence, once you graduate, you rather proceed for post graduate studies, get a job and or probably get married, so no appreciable time for family members except on few uncommon occasions.
Though, I will not solicit for been a mummy or daddy's pet but the fact remains everyone needs a shoulder to lean on and one's
immediate family could be a sure bet, cordial family relationship is strengthened by spending moments together, eating as a family and talking together which might not necessarily operates on a normal day but only on holidays. It will be so much fun when dad is not rushing out early to work and mom too is taking her time at home while your siblings too are so much around and you're some where else all in the name of been a student, my dear you're really missing out a big deal.
I understand the fact that some homes are not actually palatable and conducive enough due to one reason or the other but you can not tell me you don't have a love one you can enjoy the holiday with together.
Stop building unnecessary protocol around yourself, enjoy the moment while it last, holidays are meant to be spent with family members at home and not with hostel mates.
