A worthy Father

Happy Father's Day to all Honorable Fathers

It's fathers day celebration again,
Simply put a father is a male parent of a child who by virtue of this responsibility is  saddled with providing for the needs of his households, protecting, guarding, gathering, encouraging, monitoring, coordinating, managing and directing the affairs of his home to include the wife and children.
It is of no doubt that the work load of a father is not a child's play and so to be referred to as a father is more than just birthing a child but taking holistic responsibility for the welfare of the child.

Here are some of the roles of a father towards the child:

A. Show God to his children
A responsible father must ensure that each and every child born of him acknowledge the sovereignty of God over his/her life. A father must guide the child towards accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Personal Saviour, nurture such child towards appropriating salvation of his/her own life. He must be present to provide answers to their curious questions as related to their maturation in Christ. A father should show his child the way of the cross and ensure such child live by it.

B. Produce Sensible Children.
The child must be brought up in a such a way that he/she can reason constructively and make sensible decisions, a father must ensure that his children are tutored in a such way that they can be responsible for their own decision having been equipped with how to make such reasonable. Morals, ethics and values of the society must be passed to the children and well versed in it so as to ensure living in the society without constituting nuisance to fellow citizens.

C. Raise Skillful Children
The child should be guided in such way that he/she doesn't depend on any individual or government to make a living. Skill should be emphasized in such a way that the child can boast of something he can do by himself to earn a living. This include education, vocational training other related skills tantamount to overall development of a child.

D. Raise Dependable & Trustworthy Children.
One of the major issues in our society now is lack of people who can be trusted with a role. A father should make efforts to ensure he raises trustworthy children who can be depended upon in any situations. A child another person can boast of that if be it this person I'm sure he can or can't do a particular thing. Children must be imbibed with the virtues of being accountable in all situations to anything that is been handed over to him/her. Strict disciplines must be observed on the child way of actions to ensure trustworthiness.

E. Raise Servant-leader Children.
The spirit of leadership must be inculcated into children from their young age so that they can know how to behave, coordinate and direct people towards achieving a goal. It is of no doubt that every child at one point in time will be a leader somewhere and sometime so, preparation should be made for this enormous task that lies ahead, children must be taught how to lead by serving.

Generally, as much as a father should provide for the children, you must ensure you doesn't spoil the child, it is most advisable that the need of the child's should be provided for and not his wants. Some fathers even take it a bit further by providing for the needs of the child when such a child requests for it.

Happy Father's Day!!!
