Life: A Journey not a Competition

Have you ever wondered why vehicles gives room for overtaking on an express road?
Why isn't it possible for the car that leaves  the motor park first gets to the destination first?
Don't you think about why the best in a particular place, is only a back bencher in another place?
Definitely, it should have crossed your mind before now


The simple and direct answer to those questions is simply because life is a journey
Every human on the surface of earth is on a pilgrim journey including you
Since we don't start this journey at the same time
We're definitely going to reach our destination separately

The only common thing about all human is that we all have 24 hours in a day to journey
Every other thing is different and unique to each person
So your age mates, classmates, course mates, play mates are not your journey mates
As you embark on your own journey
So they're on their own journey also

You're not in a competition with anybody
Don't compare yourself to your mates
Be encouraged about others achievement
Never envy them or be depressed and curse yourself
That your mates seems to be doing better than you're presently doesn't mean you're inferior
Check very well, you're doing better than some other people also

It becomes more difficult to accepts life as a journey when those who are your junior seems to be overtaking you
But you know what? It's not the end of life
Sometimes our journey gets delayed so that we can use our spare tyre, re- fuel our tank and reach the destination with ease

You will appreciates God the more when you compare yourself with your mates that are dead
Rather than those who are doing better than you
So, that you're alive means you can still be the best you wish to be
Never compare; life is a Journey not a Competition

Focus on yourself daily and improve
Equip yourself with tools that will make you a success you wish to be
Be the best you can be for yourself
Your journey is yours and yours alone
Trying to overtake those who sped past you foolishly will result in your accident
You're the best chapter of yourself
The world awaits your manifestation.
